On the Biological Sciences (Zoology) degree you will explore theoretical and practical aspects of animal biology and biodiversity including animal behaviour, development, ecology, evolution and animal physiology. You will gain a comprehensive, up-to-date understanding of the approaches and practical experience of the techniques that zoologists use to tackle some of the most important questions in neurobiology, behaviour, ecology and evolution. Your lab work and lectures will be supported by fieldwork, including overseas field courses. Job prospects are excellent: 95% of our Biological/Medical Sciences students are employed (or studying for a Masters degree) six months after graduating. (DLHE).We are proud of our consistently excellent scores in the National Student Survey (NSS). In the 2019 NSS 96% of our students were satisfied with their course. Written feedback from the NSS survey stresses the approachability of the staff, the quality of the teaching support, and the opportunities provided by our final-year research projects. All of our Biological Sciences courses are practical degrees with strong emphasis on lab work and fieldwork.
