Program Description

By studying this course you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop practical skills in our Bloomberg Trading Floor
    Develop your skills in our Trading Floor, featuring 42 dual screen Bloomberg terminals. You'll also have the opportunity to gain the Bloomberg Market Concepts Certificate, on successful completion of a short course.
  • Study on a course with CFA accreditation
    Study on a course with professional accreditation1 from the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society of the UK, recognising the significant alignment between the course content and the Investment Management Certificate.
  • Gain a CISI qualification
    Study on a course accredited by the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Upon successful completion of certain modules, you will have the opportunity to gain the Investment Advice Diploma professional qualification (for further information see the Accreditation and Professional Recognition section of the Overview tab).
  • Gain real-world exposure
    Prepare for a future career in finance and investments with a work placement. Past students have undertaken placements at companies including Deloitte and Vauxhall Motors.
  • Access our sigma Maths and Stats Support Centre
    Access maths and statistics support through drop-in sessions with experienced tutors.

On successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Structure and evaluate the retail financial products, services and strategies available to individuals.
  • Analyse and produce financial solutions to client needs.
  • Structure institutional investment products.
  • Manage portfolios of institutional, and direct, investment products.
  • Monitor financial markets and adjust portfolios and strategies in the light of new information.
  • Communicate information about financial products, services, strategies and solutions.
  • Critically evaluate arguments and empirical evidence concerning financial services.
  • Analyse and draw reasoned conclusions concerning structured and unstructured problems from sets of data.
  • Formulate research questions and select appropriate research methods.

Admission Requirements

  • Indian Students-Students who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate with a minimum GPA of 3.5 or the Equivalent to 65% of total GPA.
  • Arab Students need to meet any of the following-
    • Students who hold an International Baccalaureate (IB) from High School with a minimum score of 30 overall.
    • Students who have 3 A-level passes with a minimum grade of C or above.
    • Students who hold a Diploma with 2.5 GPA out of 4 or 3.0 CGPA out of 5 (subject to syllabus match).
    • Students who completed American high school should have 2 APs with 2 points or higher.
    • Students who hold Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or Central Board of Secondary Education.
