Program Description

This degree’s clear focus on developing your coaching skills will transform your approach and practice, ensuring you are well placed to take on a key role in initiatives such as Uniting the Movement, Sport England's 10-year plan to transform lives and communities through sport and physical activity.Throughout the course, you build your skills working on real-life sports-development projects; learning from industry-specific guest speakers; and gaining work experience through our partnerships with organisations including Luton Town FC, Bedford Blues Foundation and Active Luton as well as schools and colleges.You also develop your interpersonal skills and explore challenging aspects of coaching such as tackling social inequalities, connecting with communities, and creating positive sporting experiences for all, with the long-term aim of encouraging lifelong involvement in physical activity.

• You are taught by a highly experienced team, at a University with a legacy of delivering sport and physical education that goes back over 100 years
• Our academic team draw on their own work experience with organisations such as The Football Association and Sport England to give you the knowledge and skills you need to follow a career in sports coaching
• The team has completed research and published widely in the fields of sports sociology; sports coaching and development; physical education; sport management; and physical activity leadership – all of which feeds back into your learning
• We are a higher education partner of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) so the course aligns with professional standards relevant to sports coaching and development

Admission Requirements

• Indian Students:-Year 12 with 55% overall.
• Arab Students:- Any of the following:-
  • 2 A level passes (minimum C and D)
  • International Baccalaureate (24 points)
  • A recognised Foundation degree

Remarks:

Indian Students IELTS Waiver: - 

• At least 70% marks in English language course in Higher Secondary School.
• Punjab and Haryana Boards will not get IELTS waive off.
