BA (Hons) Writing for Media
Program Description
This wide-ranging course offers you the opportunity to develop and create content across a range of genres and formats for diverse media including radio, television, digital and print. It prepares you to enter a range of creative-led businesses from small start-ups requiring agile and flexible workers to larger companies which communicate to their audiences through a range of platforms. Units include practice in writing scripts, journalism for both television and online, and content for radio as well as developing your technical skills in audio and video. You also study units focusing on issues of intellectual property, publishing and new directions such as trans-media storytelling.
- Develop excellent communication and professional writing skills which you can adapt flexibly, according to platform, audience and purpose
- Learn with an academic team that specialises in producing content for the media through text, sound and image, with expertise in radio, television, journalism, digital and creative writing
- Take up opportunities to work in collaboration with other students on a range of projects
- Find an area of specialisation through producing your own special project, leading to an end-of-degree portfolio of media work
- Put your skills into practice, reporting for our news website or developing your own radio show for our on-site community radio station, Radio LaB
- Gain skills that open doors to careers in areas such as content production and development, marketing, editorial, advertising and research
Admission Requirements
- Indian Students:-Year 12 with 55% overall.
- Arab Students:- Any of the following:-
- 2 A level passes (minimum C and D)
- International Baccalaureate (24 points)
- A recognised Foundation degree

Remarks:
Indian Students IELTS Waiver: -
- At least 70% marks in English language course in Higher Secondary School.
- Punjab and Haryana Boards will not get IELTS waive off.
