MSc Construction Management and Economics

Program Description

Our Construction Management and Economics MSc prepares you for leadership roles in the construction and property industries - developing your analytical, technical and managerial skills. This Master's in Construction Management and Economics was developed in response to a growing demand for capable and creative professionals from the construction and property industries. We therefore prioritise strategic thinking and the skills needed to respond to volatile economic conditions.

On this course, you will learn the theory and application of economics, finance and management in the context of large-scale construction projects. Our modules include construction economics, construction project management, development economics and planning, and real estate development and investment. Graduates will be able to pursue roles in project and construction management consultancy, quantity surveying, or careers within construction companies, environmental agencies, local authorities and regeneration agencies.

Admission Requirements

  • You should have an honours degree 2:2 or above or an equivalent qualification in a built environment discipline, such as civil engineering, construction, surveying or architecture. We will consider undergraduate degrees in other disciplines on an individual basis.
  • Alternatively, we will consider relevant experience with membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • General Requirement
    • Indian Students- Four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 55% in Final Year (However, if graduating from one of the top universities: Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune University), Calcutta University, Delhi University, Bangalore University and Madras University; a minimum of 50% in final year is required). 
      Note: More specialised courses require four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 65% in final year.(However, if graduating from one of the top universities: Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune University), Calcutta University, Delhi University, Bangalore University and Madras University; a minimum of 60% in final year is required).
    • Arab Students-Bachelors Degree with 60% or GPA 2.5/4 for UK 2:2 and GPA 3/4 for UK 2.1

Remarks:

  • Indian Students for IELTS Waiver - At least 75% marks in English language course in Higher Secondary School.
