LLM International & Commercial Law

Program Description

With our LLM in International and Commercial Law, you’ll discover more about the legal framework governing the international community and the legal issues surrounding global markets.Knowledge of world trade - and the legal framework surrounding it - has never been more important. On this course, you'll look beyond national jurisdictions and get to grips with the issues of public international law and international commercial law.

You can study one of three endorsed pathways or follow the non-endorsed pathway. The three endorsed pathways are: Business Human Rights & the Environment; Intellectual Property; and Ocean Law & Policy. To gain an endorsement, you will need (after starting your studies) to: gain approval to study for the endorsement; and gain approval for - and then complete - a dissertation which must be on an area related to the endorsement; and thirdly study the compulsory, 30-credit, module* that relates to the endorsement. (*For Ocean Law & Policy, the module compulsory for the endorsement is ‘The Law of Maritime Security: Navies & the Rule of Law at Sea’; for Intellectual Property, the module compulsory for the endorsement is ‘Intellectual Property Law’; and for the Business Human Rights & the Environment, the module compulsory for the endorsement is ‘Business Human Rights & the Environment’.)

Admission Requirements

  • General Requirement
    • Indian Students- Four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 55% in Final Year (However, if graduating from one of the top universities: Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune University), Calcutta University, Delhi University, Bangalore University and Madras University; a minimum of 50% in final year is required). 
      Note: More specialised courses require four year bachelor degree with a minimum of 65% in final year.(However, if graduating from one of the top universities: Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University (Pune University), Calcutta University, Delhi University, Bangalore University and Madras University; a minimum of 60% in final year is required).
    • Arab Students-Bachelors Degree with 60% or GPA 2.5/4 for UK 2:2 and GPA 3/4 for UK 2.1
  • A good honours degree 2:2 or above or an equivalent qualification (both level and grade) from a recognised non-UK university in criminology or a related discipline.

  • Indian Students for IELTS Waiver - At least 75% marks in English language course in Higher Secondary School.
