Program Description

Gannon’s environmental science program provides ample hands-on field experiences that take learning outside the classroom. Make a difference for our environment and protect human health by identifying environmental problems through research and data collection. Apply natural sciences to understand human impacts on the environment. Gain hands-on experience with field sampling and analytical instruments used by environmental professionals. Identify and evaluate environmental problems and develop solutions to remediate and sustain environmental systems.Gain real-world knowledge through key environmental science courses including: 

  • Water Quality Lab: Use equipment and techniques to assess quality parameters of surface and ground water. 
  • Environmental Toxicology Lab: Gain experience collecting and analyzing air, water and soil samples. Activities have included conducting water quality monitoring onboard the research vessel, RV Environaut.
  • Climate Change and Energy: Learn how complex factors contribute to global climate change, along with topics including conventional and renewable energy technologies.

Admission Requirements

  • A minimum GPA of 3/4 or B Grade in Year 12th or equivalent.
