Program Description

The accounting major prepares students for rewarding careers as industrial accountants, cost analysts, controllers, tax accountants, members of financial regulatory teams such as the IRS or banking auditors, independent auditors in CPA firms, and internal auditors. A-State accounting graduates work for manufacturing firms, in government agencies, in banking, in not-for-profit entities, and in public accounting. Accounting majors should not take accounting courses during their freshman year and should consult with their advisors concerning CPA exam requirements.

Admission Requirements

• Freshmen applicants who meet one of the following criteria will receive automatic admission to Arkansas State:
  • 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average (or GED test score equivalent) OR
  • 19 minimum ACT super score or minimum 990 combined SAT super score OR
  • Class rank in the top 20% of applicant's graduating class
• High School Marks(India, Nepal, Pakistan) 60% in English at X & XII in Certificate.
