Program Description

People have been exploring ideas and expressing their thoughts and feelings by producing art throughout history. By studying art history, you will learn how art embodies and reflects cultural, economic, gender, political, religious and social dynamics. All first year students are enrolled in the innovative, interdisciplinary Core Program integrating the beginning of their art history studies with a signature humanities-based program. Our students pursue internships with the Dayton Art Institute, the Contemporary Dayton and other local arts organizations. Our faculty work closely with students in securing internship opportunities at museums and galleries in Ohio and across the nation.
