Program Description

At the University of Dayton, we offer M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in this exciting field. We are proud to be one of a handful of academic programs in the world that offer these degrees — a true interdisciplinary department between engineering and physics. Our world-class photonics laboratories are uniquely designed to provide hands-on learning. Our focus research directly aligns with those of government labs and commercial industries, which allows you to obtain real-world and highly marketable research experiences. We also have numerous internships with our partner industries. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to network and travel to exciting places for technical conferences.

Admission Requirements

• Results from the GRE are not required. However, candidates are welcome to submit a score in support of their application.
• A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 is required on a 4.0 scale.
