Program Description

The Criminal Justice M.S.C.J. program prepares students for leadership and management positions in criminal justice and social service agencies, or entry into doctoral study. The advanced coursework in diverse subjects includes corrections, policing, courts, comparative/cross cultural issues, minorities and gender issues, victimology, white collar crime, terrorism, ethics, and popular culture. A Masters of Science in Criminal Justice is the perfect next step for students and professionals wishing to take their careers to the next level.

Students should consult the Graduate School and the University Catalog for specific information. The Office of the Graduate School is responsible for the administration of the University graduate admission policy. The decision to admit a student is based upon evaluations of both qualitative and quantitative information.

Admission Requirements

Students must:

• hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university,
• have a minimum GPA of 2.7 (based on a 4.0 scale) on all undergraduate work,
• be approved by the Criminal Justice Department
• Two applications: (1) Graduate School Application and (2) Program Application
• GRE or MAT scores
  • Those that submit MAT scores must also submit a writing sample
