Program Description

The English: Literary Studies, M.A. program helps students to develop advanced research and academic writing skills, and engage with professional organizations, peer-reviewed journals, and regional and national conferences. The program faculty specialize in American, British, and African literature, literary theory and criticism, women, gender, and sexuality studies, and children's and YA literature. Our graduates continue their studies in PhD and MFA programs around the country, teach at the secondary and higher education institutions, and advance their professional careers.

Admission Requirements

Students must:

• hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university,
• have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) on all undergraduate work,
• Two applications: (1) Graduate School Application and (2) Program Application
