The Public Health: Nutrition and Dietetics, M.P.H. program prepares students for reflective practice as Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to promote health equity in a variety of diverse settings, through scholarly achievement, public health leadership, and experiential learning in community nutrition, food systems management, and medical nutrition therapy, with the goal of preventing and treating nutrition-related chronic disease.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive a verification statement to establish eligibility to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians. The program ensures that all students who complete the program meet the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), including education and supervised experiential learning, and are eligible and prepared for the Registration Examination for Dietitians and Tennessee state certification/licensure.
