Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Multi-Platform Software Development degree at the University of Mount Union focuses on the modern techniques of software construction and programming for a variety of device types, from desktops computers to smartphones, tablets to servers. Required courses in networking, database systems, and web design provide a strong foundation that prepares students for the demands of the computing industry now and into the future. Multi-platform software development majors also work on several different software projects, designed to strengthen students’ skills with hands-on learning including:

  • Team-based projects working with statistical data analysis and online database systems for restaurant reservations and a live-streaming University weather feed
  • For the Mobile Device Programming course, students developed prototype apps for the University’s Department of Biology to automate the recording of animal sounds in a field setting

Admission Requirements

  • An applicant should have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be considered for admission
