Program Description

The Bachelor of Arts in public relations degree at the University of Mount Union will help you become a creative and strategic problem-solver who utilizes all forms of communication to develop and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholder audiences. As a public relations major, you will discern the root of the public relations process – strategic issues management, which involves examining, analyzing, and inferring issues, attitudes, and behaviors that can positively and negatively impact an organization and its relationships with all stakeholders. 

The public relations curriculum meets the rigorous academic standards of the nation's largest professional organization serving the communications industry, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  By journeying into applied research, audience segmentation, campaign formation, integrated marketing communications, and creative and tactical content development across diverse platforms, you will become proficient and poised to practice public relations in an organization, a nonprofit, or an agency setting.

• An applicant should have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to be considered for admission
