Program Description

The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Science at St. Francis Colleges teaches students how to teach and promote well-being. More than just moderating or eliminating potentially risky behavior, the program emphasizes personal decisions and behavioral choices. SFC prepares students to succeed in this increasingly important and growing field.

Through instruction in data collection, analysis and interpretation, and needs assessment, students gain experience designing and conducting health promotion programs and events. Learning is augmented through hands-on experience, such as service learning and internships at national health organizations including as the American Cancer Society, local community health organizations like Rivington House, and medical settings such as Brooklyn Medical Group and Methodist Hospital.

Admission Requirements

  • Students who have achieved a high school GPA of 71 or above will be fully admitted to the institution (with the exception of the nursing program).
  • Students who have a GPA between 65 and 70 may participate in our conditional admittance program on a case-by-case basis.
