Program Description

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at St. Francis College provides students with a solid foundation for graduate study in philosophy, as well as careers that developed analytical and critical skills such as medicine, law, health care, journalism, business, and more. The program teaches students to think, reason, and communicate clearly, which are in-demand skills for a range of high paid jobs. Promoting an understanding of the nature, purpose, and importance of the philosophical enterprise, the Philosophy program at SFC invites students to engage in seeking and answering their own philosophical questions. The program emphasizes the value of critical thinking as the best way to distinguish what is worth doing and what is not.

Admission Requirements

  • Students who have achieved a high school GPA of 71 or above will be fully admitted to the institution (with the exception of the nursing program).
  • Students who have a GPA between 65 and 70 may participate in our conditional admittance program on a case-by-case basis.
