Program Description

The MPS program provides students with advanced training in the study of political processes and institutions at the national and international levels. In AUM’s Master of Science in Political Science (MPS) program, graduate students gain rigorous, advanced training in core political science ideas and cutting-edge research and statistical methodology. Students learn how to develop, test, and interpret answers to relevant research questions with significant policy implications. This in-depth training program in political science is designed for students who seek academic or professional careers. It provides an opportunity for students to:

• Explore the leading literature in the key political science fields of American politics and international relations
• Receive advanced training in research methods
• Gain significant skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Have the opportunity to take electives in comparative politics and data analysis
• Undertake an independent research project on a topic of interest under the guidance of program faculty

Admission Requirements

• An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university. Official transcripts required at time of application.
• A GPA of  3.0  is required.
