Bachelor of Arts Urban Community Studies
Program Description
The Bachelor of Arts in Urban Community Studies prepares students to examine issues affecting urban areas. Through the program students will:
- Examine introductory theories and methodologies of analyzing inner city communities throughout the world.
- Examine introductory literature of the scholarship and activism associated with addressing the current trends and developments related to the multiplicity of issues and challenge urban communities.
- Demonstrate their understanding of urban issues through written and oral communication, and web-based technologies.
- Prepare to pursue graduate degrees in Urban Community Studies and other related fields
Students in this program generally seek employment in administrative, executive, and educational positions in inner city, human, and social service agencies or with community-based organizations.
Admission Requirements
- Applicants who have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or above will automatically be admitted to the university and not be required to submit standardized test scores for admissions.
- Applicants who score below a 2.5 grade point average are encouraged to submit standardized test scores(ACT or SAT scores)
