With a business analytics major from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business, you will play an increasingly important role as organizations seriously examine data. In order to deliver exceptional business performance, it is crucial that businesses actively analyze internal and external data to drive their decisions. Opportunities abound for tech-savvy business people who know how to deal intelligently with data.The business analytics major prepares students to succeed in a data-driven world, providing exposure to software platforms and techniques used to store, transform, manipulate, analyze and interpret small and large sets of data.

As a business analytics student at WMU, you will be eligible to apply for scholarships available through our department. To qualify, you will submit an online application that outlines your qualities as a student and how you plan to impact the world through information technology.If you're interested in hearing about the latest trends in technology straight from industry leaders, you'll want to attend the Western Michigan IT Forum. This on-campus event has featured high-profile speakers from companies such as Google, Kellogg, Pfizer, LinkedIn, IBM and Cisco.

Admission Requirements

Your transcript is the most important piece of information.  It shows what courses you’ve taken and your grades, which allows us to assess:

• Academic Preparation.  Successful students are prepared students and we want to make sure you’re ready for the rigors of college-level work.  We recommend*:
  -  4 years of English
  -  3-4 years of math (through second year algebra or pre-calculus)
  -  3 years of natural sciences (two or more with a lab component)
  -  2 years of the same foreign language
• Grade Point Average.
• Grade Trend.  How well you’ve done in your most recent courses.
