Program Description

Ranked in the top 10 in the nation by the Gartner research firm, the interdisciplinary integrated supply management program at Western Michigan University will prepare you for challenging and high-paying careers with leading companies. An ISM degree means you'll be involved in every step of the process of providing goods and services to consumers, from the time of inception through consumption and redemption. Ninety-six percent of integrated supply management graduates are employed or in graduate school within three months of graduation. As an ISM student, you will have many opportunities for experiential learning, which will allow you to explore supply chain management concepts in real-world contexts. Manufacturing simulations, class projects based on genuine business issues from industry partners, internships, and consulting on supply chain issues for companies and organizations will all be a part of your learning experience. Hands-on education, connecting classroom information with actual business practices, is a defining aspect of the curriculum. 

Admission Requirements

Your transcript is the most important piece of information.  It shows what courses you’ve taken and your grades, which allows us to assess:

  • Academic Preparation.  Successful students are prepared students and we want to make sure you’re ready for the rigors of college-level work.  We recommend*:
    -  4 years of English
    -  3-4 years of math (through second year algebra or pre-calculus)
    -  3 years of natural sciences (two or more with a lab component)
    -  2 years of the same foreign language
  • Grade Point Average.
  • Grade Trend.  How well you’ve done in your most recent courses.
