Program Description

Western Michigan University's occupational therapy program will prepare you to sit for the exam to become a practicing occupational therapy assistant. You'll also be prepared for graduate studies if you choose to pursue your master's or doctoratal degree in occupational therapy. As an OT student at WMU, you will be exposed to unique learning opportunities and mentorships to develop collaborative partnerships with doctoral students. You will have clinical experiences with doctoral students, working and learning alongside them. It's valuable experience that will show when you enter the workforce. You’ll also complete baccalaureate project before graduation. During that project, you will gain in-depth experience in administration, advocacy, clinical practice skills, education or leadership.

Admission Requirements

Your transcript is the most important piece of information.  It shows what courses you’ve taken and your grades, which allows us to assess:

• Academic Preparation.  Successful students are prepared students and we want to make sure you’re ready for the rigors of college-level work.  We recommend*:
  -  4 years of English
  -  3-4 years of math (through second year algebra or pre-calculus)
  -  3 years of natural sciences (two or more with a lab component)
  -  2 years of the same foreign language
• Grade Point Average.
• Grade Trend.  How well you’ve done in your most recent courses.

• I20(Visa Letter) can be obtained only after submitting a bank statement with a balance of USD $33,688.
