Master of Science Animal and Food Sciences

Program Description

The Department of Animal and Food Sciences offers three graduate degree programs: the master of science degree in animal science, the master of science degree in food science and the doctor of philosophy degree in animal and food sciences. In animal science, research programs are offered in physiology; ruminant and poultry nutrition; microbiology, immunology and pathology; and molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics. In food science, research programs are offered in food biochemistry, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, toxicology and processing.

Admission Requirements

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. If you have a three-year non-U.S. degree, you may request a review for determination as to equivalency.
