Program Description

The M.S. in disaster science and management program approaches emergency management from a distinctly interdisciplinary, research-based point of view. The program emphasizes theories, research methodologies, and policies related to a broad spectrum of issues relating to emergency management. Courses include emphases on disaster response, disaster recovery, social vulnerability, organizational behavior, crisis management, and other important topics. The program builds on the unique strengths and international reputation of the Disaster Research Center (DRC) and related programs and research at the University of Delaware.

Admission Requirements

  • Admission decisions will be based on prior educational experiences, GPA, and letters of recommendation. It is generally expected that students will have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0, and will have earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
  • GRE scores are not required for admission to this program.
