Program Description

This is a dynamic department—with students studying human relationships, analyzing film and television, creating films, practicing public relations, writing for the student newspaper, and instructing others in communication. Our students pursue degrees in communication studies or media arts with emphases in media studies or media production. We also have minors in communication studies, public relations, and digital journalism, as well as a teaching certificate in communication. Additionally, we have a Master of Arts in Communication.

Our professors and instructors include published authors, filmmakers, sought-after speakers, respected leaders, and award-winning educators. They love to teach and are constantly looking for ways to make the learning environment the best possible for our students.

Admission Requirements

• Although not required for admission purposes, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit SAT or ACT scores to the university for academic advising and enrollment purposes.
• Students who graduate high school within the high school class quartile below will be guaranteed admission if the required diploma type is earned.
• Students who attend a non-ranking high school, will be provided a class ranking based off of their GPA and the admissions office's internal ranking system.
