Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) prepares graduates for a variety of career opportunities in the health care field by providing the management skills necessary for success. By designing a degree plan using electives in such areas as computer science, marketing, education, business administration, accounting, human resource management, and information systems, the student may pursue specific areas of interest. Students can also use electives to design a degree plan that will satisfy entrance requirements for admission to professional schools such as medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, public health, law, and business. When you reach graduation, you’ll have the skills to take on careers that include:

  • Physician Practice Manager
  • Healthcare Administrator
  • Quality and Improvement Manager
  • Patient Finance Manager
  • Health Insurance Manager
  • Managed Care Representative
  • Healthcare Department Manager
  • Population Health Manager

Admission Requirements

  • Although not required for admission purposes, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit SAT or ACT scores to the university for academic advising and enrollment purposes.
  • Students who graduate high school within the high school class quartile below will be guaranteed admission if the required diploma type is earned.
  • Students who attend a non-ranking high school, will be provided a class ranking based off of their GPA and the admissions office's internal ranking system.
1st QuarterGuaranteed Admission: Test scores optional, but encouraged.
2nd QuarterGuaranteed Admission: Test scores optional, but encouraged.
3rd and 4th QuartersHolistic Review: Test scores optional. Review considers combination of success indicators including test scores, unweighted high school GPA, and class rank.
