Program Description

EC-12 Physical Education Certification is an accredited program intended to prepare students to become certified physical education teachers in the state of Texas. This includes the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Students who successfully complete the requirements of the EC-12 Physical Education Certification degree program and who pass their teacher certification exams will be qualified to teach all-level physical education in the state of Texas. Career options include:

• Elementary school physical education teacher
• Middle school physical education teacher
• High school physical education teacher

Admission Requirements

• Although not required for admission purposes, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit SAT or ACT scores to the university for academic advising and enrollment purposes.
• Students who graduate high school within the high school class quartile below will be guaranteed admission if the required diploma type is earned.
• Students who attend a non-ranking high school, will be provided a class ranking based off of their GPA and the admissions office's internal ranking system.
