Master of Arts in Architectural Studies
Program Description
The Master of Arts in Architectural Studies [MAAS] is an advanced degree focused on deep research into the built environment. Students pursuing the Master of Arts in Architectural Studies must have earned a four-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. The Master of Arts in Architectural Studies is an advanced degree. It is not a post-professional degree. Students must have a minimum of 30 credit hours of approved study that include the following:
- 9 credit hours in advanced, prescribed courses as described below.
- 21 credit hours of elective study approved by the Director of Graduate Studies. Students must obtain approval of their degree plans, including electives, before the conclusion of the first semester of enrollment.
Admission Requirements
- A student must have completed a baccalaureate degree with a 3.0 GPA.
- This degree is intended for students already possessing an undergraduate bachelor’s degree in architecture or environmental design.
- Portfolios will be given the highest priority along with transcripts and letters of reference.
