Master of Athletic Training
Program Description
Athletic Trainers (ATs) are healthcare professionals who render service or treatment, under the direction of or in collaboration with a physician, in accordance with their education and training and the states' statutes, rules and regulations. As a part of the healthcare team, services provided by ATs include injury and illness prevention, wellness promotion and education, emergent care, examination and clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.
Admission Requirements
- A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required with special emphasis on the grades in required courses (see required courses below).
- A grade of a “B” or higher in the Required courses is recommended
- General Biology (3 credit hours)
- Chemistry (3 credit hours)
- Physics (3 credit hours)
- Anatomy & Physiology 1 (or equivalent) (4 credit hours)
- Anatomy & Physiology 2 (or equivalent) (4 credit hours)
- Biomechanics (3 credit hours)
- Exercise Physiology (3 credit hours)
- Motor Learning (3 credit hours)
- Psychology (3 credit hours)
- Statistics (3 credit hours)
- Nutrition (3 credit hours)
