Bachelor of Science in Physics
Program Description
The Physics major trains students on energy, motion, force and matter. Classes cover a wide range of areas such as calculus physics, analytic geometry, scientific instrumentation, quantum mechanics, chemistry, and quantitative analysis.
As a CMU Physics major, you will have opportunities to:
- participate in hands-on learning through research projects, laboratories, our own Morrison Observatory, and internships
- prepare for graduate school in physics, allied areas of science, engineering, and more
- gain the skills needed for in-demand professions in a variety of fields including physics, astronomy, biotechnology, nanotechnology, aerospace, education, and technology
Admission Requirements
To receive unconditional admission to Central Methodist University,
applicants have two pathways:
- Unconditional admission with a high school GPA of 2.5 and an ACT composite score of 18 or SAT Concordance of 960.
- Unconditional admission with a high school GPA of 2.75 with a college preparatory high school transcript as outlined below and no required ACT or SAT score (the high school GPA will be determined by the weighted GPA, if that GPA is noted on the high school transcript).
