Master of Education (M.Ed)
Program Description
The MEd program at CMU is primarily designed for the growth and advancement of teaching professionals:
- Complete requirements of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to advance through the tiered levels of teacher classifications
- Specific coursework can fulfill some requirements for obtaining additional content area endorsements or certification areas of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- Students pursuing the M.Ed. on the Fayette campus can choose from five concentration areas: Professional Teaching, Mathematics, Athletic Administration, Special Education, and Political Science
- Concentration area coursework may be available online to M.Ed. students taking classes at CGES centers; speak with an advisor for details
- The M.Ed. program does not lead to state teacher licensure
Admission Requirements
- Official transcript from an accredited college or university, showing baccalaureate degree and undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Official transcript must be requested to be sent directly to CMU from the institution via US Postal Mail or secure e-transcript delivery. Faxed transcripts or copies from the student are not accepted as official documents. Students with a GPA below a 3.00 may be conditionally admitted on a case-by-case basis.
