Bachelor of Sciences Histotechnology

Program Description

Histotechnologists work behind the scenes to help doctors treat and diagnose patients. In the Roosevelt program, you’ll learn how to apply dyes and chemicals to tissue to find microscopic abnormalities. In the last five years, every histotechnology graduate has found a job six months after graduation. Clinical medical technologists earn an average of $54,180 per year (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).  The histotechnology program has been an exciting addition to our allied health offerings. Northwestern Memorial Hospital approached Roosevelt University exclusively to work with them to design this program because of the difficulty in finding qualified employees in this field. As a result, our graduates field multiple employment offers after completion of their training. As a histotechnologist, you can work in hospitals, surgery clinics and research facilities. After graduation, you could also continue your education with a master's degree to become a pathology assistant.
