Bachelor of Arts Sociology
Program Description
Develop your political consciousness and an understanding of your place in the world. As a sociology major, you’ll learn how social forces shape our identities and structure class, race and gender inequalities. You’ll examine social problems and prepare to make change. As a sociology major, you’ll be ready for career paths in:
- Community organizing, nonprofits and foundations: advocacy for child welfare or the environment, immigration services and labor rights.
- Business services: marketing and consumer research, public relations, tourism and human resources.
- Social services: housing and criminal justice, urban planning and public administration.
- Journalism.
- Teaching at the K-12 level.
- Higher education administration.
Admission Requirements
- A GPA of 2.0 is required in high school.
- SAT or ACT is recommended.
