Western New England’s Master of Science in Civil Engineering program offers the degree you need for advanced practice in this growing field.
- A Challenging and Unique Approach to Earning your Master’s–You will gain a better understanding of advanced civil engineering topics through our flexible curriculum that includes core courses in Construction Management, Solid Mechanics, Finite Element and Numerical Analysis, and Advanced Green and Sustainable Civil Engineering. Our unique multidisciplinary approach incorporates elective courses from other engineering subjects that will help you develop essential skills to advance your career.
- Choose Your Path: All-course, Project, or Thesis Options–You can choose from three options to complete your MS in Civil Engineering degree. With the All-course option, you will complete 10 graduate courses that include open electives in which you will choose from courses in civil, electrical, mechanical, and engineering management. Through the Project or Thesis options you will work with a faculty advisor to take a deeper dive in a topic of interest, culminating in your final report and presentation.
- Accelerated Study at Your Own Pace–Whether you are interested in full-time study or you are a working professional pursuing your studies part-time, our year-round, four-term structure will allow you to accelerate your studies. Finish in as little as one year studying full-time and as few as 21 months studying part-time. Classes are held on campus in the day and evening with some online course offerings.
- Individualized Attention Through Small Classes–Our graduate classes, averaging 20 students, maximize your ability to interact with your professors, collaborate with classmates, and really absorb the advanced course materials.
Admission Requirements
- Successful completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in civil or environmental engineering. Other engineering science disciplines will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required for admission. Candidates with an undergraduate GPA between 2.7 and 2.99 will be considered for conditional admittance.
- Programming competence
- Candidates with an undergraduate degree not accredited by ABET are encouraged to submit a GRE score from the past five years.

- I20(Visa Letter) can be obtained only after submitting a bank statement with a balance of USD $40,650.
