Program Description

The B.S. Forensics Science – Molecular Biology degree at the Forensic Science Institute is a FEPAC accredited degree that prepares students for a career in the field of Forensic DNA Analysis. The education and training students receive in addition to the concurrent Biology degree exceed the national standards known as the Quality Assurance Standards (QAS) for potential employees within crime laboratories in the United States. Our students learn how to analyze biological evidence from humans and other organisms, use chemical indicator tests, extract and amplify DNA, generate DNA profiles, analyze a variety of DNA profiles, utilize probabilistic software, and sequence entire genomes using massively parallel sequencing, all accomplished in a new laboratory at UCO dedicated to DNA education and training. Admission Requirements

The student must show a minimum GPA of 2.70 or its equivalent in high school.

  • I20(Visa Letter) can be obtained only after submitting a bank statement with a balance of USD $26,300.
