Program Description

The Master of Education in Reading program at the University of Central Oklahoma uses multiple educational settings to prepare students for a wide range of positions in the field. Candidates completing the degree requirements will be eligible to apply for certification as a PreK-12 Reading Specialist, as outlined by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. This degree may also lead to the following career options:

• Reading Specialist
• Literacy Coach
• Reading Coach
• Reading/Literacy Interventionist
• Title I Teacher or Director
• Reading Clinic Director or Tutor
• Curriculum Director
• Adult Education, including: Colleges, CareerTech, and Correctional Institutions

Admission Requirements

• A 2.75 GPA overall or 3.00 GPA in the last 60 hours attempted in undergraduate degree.

• I20(Visa Letter) can be obtained only after submitting a bank statement with a balance of USD $25,100.
