Program Description

Special Education is a challenging and rewarding career for anyone who is willing to work hard and wants to make a difference in the lives of others. The faculty and staff in the Special Education Program take pride in offering excellent, student-centered programs that are fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) using the standards of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).  The graduate program in mild-moderate disabilities is designed to offer advanced study to those students interested in infants, early childhood, elementary, middle, secondary and adult education of students with mild/moderate needs. Career Opportunities

  • Teach students with mild-moderate disabilities in public and private schools
  • Serve as a special education consultant
  • Serve as a special education lobbyist
  • Serve in special education administrative capacity (e.g. supervisor, trainer)
  • Private tutoring or school

Admission Requirements

  • A 2.75 GPA overall or 3.00 GPA in the last 60 hours attempted in undergraduate degree.

Remarks:

  • I20(Visa Letter) can be obtained only after submitting a bank statement with a balance of USD $25,100.
