Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science
Program Description
Medical laboratory scientists perform laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. These tests range from simple blood tests to more complex analyses such as those needed to uncover diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or cancer. Medical laboratory scientists can also specialize in areas such as chemistry, hematology, blood banking, immunology and microbiology. They are responsible for the accuracy of test results and the reporting of results to the pathologist or other doctors. The most successful medical laboratory scientists are problem solvers who:

Admission Requirements
- High school grades (minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average) and class rank;
- American College Test (ACT) (minimum 20 composite ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) (minimum 950 composite SAT) scores;
- for those students unable to take the ACT or SAT due to COVID-19 closing testing centers, the following criteria will be used:
- An Academic Letter of Recommendation;
- A graded writing sample of previous academic work;
- An interview with University Admissions personnel;
