The first two blocks of classes (summer and fall) are an intensive on-campus experience. Echocardiography students will spend 30 to 40 hours per week in the classroom and laboratory settings learning normal and pathological conditions as they relate to the study of the adult heart. In addition to scanning in the laboratories, students will have the opportunity to use the University’s cadaver lab. Upon completion of the didactic (academic) portion of the program, students will attend clinical education for 40 hours per week at one of the University’s designated clinical sites. Clinical education is 35 weeks in length and totals 1,400 hours, offering students a tremendous amount of real-life experience and the ability to apply the skill sets they learned on campus. This unique program design and extensive hands-on experience ensure graduates have the attributes employers are looking for.
