Program Description

In today's high-technology environment, homes and businesses must be constantly vigilant about computer security and information management. The demand for trained individuals in this area will continue to grow.  Completion of the information assurance emphasis at The University of Findlay can increase your marketability upon graduation. An emphasis in information assurance prepares students for careers as information security analysts in addition to software engineering.  Graduates will be able to manage risks associated with the use, processing, storage and transmission of information or data and the systems and processes used for these purposes. To complete a Computer Science degree with an Information Assurance Emphasis you must complete eight information assurance emphasis courses in addition to the computer science core courses.

Admission Requirements

• High school grades (minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average) and class rank;
• American College Test (ACT) (minimum 20 composite ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) (minimum 950 composite SAT) scores;
  • for those students unable to take the ACT or SAT due to COVID-19 closing testing centers, the following criteria will be used:
    • An Academic Letter of Recommendation;
    • A graded writing sample of previous academic work;
    • An interview with University Admissions personnel;
