Program Description

With the 2004 Authorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Improvement Act (IDEIA) the demand for teachers with an intervention specialist licensure is growing now more than ever. Schools are looking for teachers who are innovative, creative and want to work with students of all ages. If you're looking for a teaching position that allows you to tackle new challenges each day and watch your students grow from children into young adults, Findlay's Intervention Specialist licensure program is for you. The University of Findlay offers an intervention specialist licensure program that is nationally accredited through the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). 

Admission Requirements

  • High school grades (minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average) and class rank;
  • American College Test (ACT) (minimum 20 composite ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) (minimum 950 composite SAT) scores;
    • for those students unable to take the ACT or SAT due to COVID-19 closing testing centers, the following criteria will be used:
      • An Academic Letter of Recommendation;
      • A graded writing sample of previous academic work;
      • An interview with University Admissions personnel;

  • Yearly tuition fee is given
  • I20(Visa Letter) can be obtained only after submitting a bank statement with a balance of USD $48,176.
