Program Description

This programme is designed to provide you with detailed knowledge of advanced methods in Mechanical Engineering encompassing theoretical foundations, computational and experimental methods, and engineering applications. In addition to a comprehensive choice of elective options, the programme features an individual project that allows you to tackle a research topic that you select from a wide range of themes. As a graduate of this programme, you will be highly sought-after by major Irish and multinational companies across a wide range of sectors – energy, biomedical, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, construction, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. In addition, the course will provide you with the required educational standard to apply for Chartered Engineer status, fulfilling the requirements of Engineers Ireland for this internationally-recognised professional title.

Admission Requirements

The minimum entry requirement to the programme is a 2:2 undergraduate degree (Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland) (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field. For international students, the entry equivalent will be accepted as determined by the Course Director in consultation with UL Graduate School Admissions. Where applicants are non-native English language speakers, certified achievement in TOEFL or IELTS Standard English Language Competency Test will be required. An interview may be part of the admission process.
