Program Description

Health and physical education is vital in helping young people develop the confidence and skills to be connected and active members of society. This major prepares you for this rewarding career.The Health and Physical Education major is unique, integrating hauora, health promotion and the socio-ecological aspects that support health and physical education in New Zealand schools. You explore how people learn and how to support learning in health-related and movement-based subjects. Our graduates can go on to complete a graduate diploma in teaching and join the teaching profession well-equipped to contribute to 21st century learning environments.

Admission Requirements

Bangladesh Students

• One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised institute.

India Students

• 12 years of schooling with an overall average of 75% in four academic subjects, including a min 60% in English from All-India Senior Certificate (AISSC) - Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CBSC), or Indian School Certificate (ISC) - Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), or Indian State Boards - Karnataka, Maharashtra or West Bengal State Board Examinations.
• All other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations require an overall average of 80% in four academic subjects with a min 65% in English.

Arab Students

• One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised institute; or
• Successful completion of a diploma at a recognised college of technology; or
• Successful completion of a junior health diploma at a recognised tertiary institution; or
• Successful completion of a higher technical institute diploma at a recognised tertiary institution.
