Program Description

Interested in learning and how it relates to culture, community, social media and social justice? We’ve all been to school and probably all have a view on education. The Bachelor of Arts in Education re-examines these views.

It’s a great pathway for a number of careers in fields involved in education policy or strategic development, or for further study to become a teacher. Because this major is part of the Bachelor of Arts, it’s easy to combine it with many other aspects of society and culture. Choose from majors in areas as diverse as education, social sciences, psychology, international studies, Māori development, event management or languages. You can build your degree in a way that suits you – study either one or two majors, select from a wide range of minors or perhaps add elective courses from another area of study.

Admission Requirements

Bangladesh Students

• One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised institute.

India Students

• 12 years of schooling with an overall average of 75% in four academic subjects, including a min 60% in English from All-India Senior Certificate (AISSC) - Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CBSC), or Indian School Certificate (ISC) - Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), or Indian State Boards - Karnataka, Maharashtra or West Bengal State Board Examinations.
• All other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations require an overall average of 80% in four academic subjects with a min 65% in English.

Arab Students

• One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised institute; or
• Successful completion of a diploma at a recognised college of technology; or
• Successful completion of a junior health diploma at a recognised tertiary institution; or
• Successful completion of a higher technical institute diploma at a recognised tertiary institution.
