Bachelor of Communication Studies-Journalism
Program Description
Highly regarded both in New Zealand and around the world, the Journalism department is part of communication studies at AUT. Journalism at AUT gives graduates the broad base of skills they need to excel in today’s rapidly changing news media environment. With intensive periods in AUT’s world-class live newsroom using multimedia technologies to find, write and produce stories, students gain experience in news reporting, different writing and production specialisations, bicultural and cross-cultural reporting, news photography, media law and ethics.
Admission Requirements
Bangladesh Students
- One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised institute.
India Students
- 12 years of schooling with an overall average of 75% in four academic subjects, including a min 60% in English from All-India Senior Certificate (AISSC) - Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CBSC), or Indian School Certificate (ISC) - Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), or Indian State Boards - Karnataka, Maharashtra or West Bengal State Board Examinations.
- All other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations require an overall average of 80% in four academic subjects with a min 65% in English.
Arab Students
- One year of successful study towards an undergraduate degree at a recognised institute; or
- Successful completion of a diploma at a recognised college of technology; or
- Successful completion of a junior health diploma at a recognised tertiary institution; or
- Successful completion of a higher technical institute diploma at a recognised tertiary institution.
