Program Description

The MA Education with Montessori will comprise a combination of a specialised module for the course, alongside core modules of the Education Masters framework; this will allow you to work inter-professionally with students from across the School, whilst at the same time affording you the opportunity to develop as a community of practice yourselves. The course is designed for professionals who want to develop their expertise in Montessori. The course provides opportunity for career progression in management, mentoring, lecturing and consultancy. Early career teachers who take the course could progress to become specialist coordinators. It is an excellent choice for continuing professional development for teachers at all levels, as well as leaders and managers within the educational system. This Masters will give you a higher level award that includes both deeper knowledge of the subject and added transferable skills such as independent working, verbal and written communication, critical and creative thinking, presentation skills, team working, research and project management and increased self-confidence. This course can also be the first step towards working in research or university lecturing and can be a pathway to a PhD or EdD.

Admission Requirements

Normally applicants should have a first degree with honours at a minimum classification of 2:2 or equivalent. Exceptional entry is offered to professionals with extensive professional experience. Arrangements also exist to incorporate Accredited Prior Learning (APL).
