Gain the knowledge and skills you need for a public health career worldwide. From epidemiological research to addiction and disease, policy-making to migration and mental health, this course covers the key concepts. Across the globe, the increasing demand for healthcare alongside the reduction in funding for healthcare systems means there is an increased need for a trained, effective workforce of public health professionals. Globally, the field of public health is ever-expanding, particularly in the context of increased migration, conflict, natural disasters, and infectious disease outbreaks.
The course has been designed to address current global public health issues such as infectious disease control and mental health issues related to increasing migration patterns. We’ll prepare you to take on global public health challenges, through essential public health, epidemiology and statistics, ethics and globalisation, culminating in a major project led by you. By nature, the field of public health is complex and requires cooperation between diverse sectors and disciplines. This course has been designed to incorporate the interplay between health, social care, economy, environment and politics to encourage creative and applied learning. Throughout the course, you’ll develop your theoretical foundation and learn how to apply knowledge in real-world situations.
