Program Description

The BFA Acting Program is an innovative and rigorous actor training program that specializes in the immersion and integration of multiple acting techniques as a foundation for acting for the stage and film/ television and new media. The curriculum features a course progression that includes acting, voice and speech and movement training for the actor throughout all four years and culminates in the integration of these skills in the fourth year of training which also includes a concentration in acting for the camera, voice over and new media as well as courses that that prepare students for a professional career in acting. Senior year also features a Capstone project and a New York Showcase with industry professionals. The BFA Acting degree combines the best of a conservatory training experience with a liberal arts education. The curriculum is enhanced by academically rigorous theatre courses in text analysis, directing, theatre history, technical theatre and a large array of acting electives that allow students to specialize in other areas of acting interest such as dialects, stage combat, playwriting and directing.
