Program Description

Masters in Publishing will take you on a journey through the contemporary publishing industry, giving you key skills and knowledge for a career in publishing and related fields. You will investigate how books and other publishing products and services are commissioned and completed, including the modern production processes and business strategies used to succeed in the competitive media environment.On this Masters course you’ll cover the issues, principles and practices relating to all aspects of publishing, including the national and international legal environment, organisational and management issues, and marketing principles.

You’ll learn how publishers work with authors and designers as they prepare text and images for publication in both print and electronic format. 
Guided by specialists you’ll explore case studies that illustrate contemporary issues in the industry. You’ll gain an understanding of how publishing operates across various platforms and become familiar with different publishing organisations.

Admission Requirements

  • A good honours degree (or equivalent), normally in a related subject. Applicants with professional experience are also encouraged to apply.
