Bachelor of Science Biology: Education
Program Description
The Biology B.S. provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the life sciences and is ideal for those interested in careers in biological research, health care or teaching. The critical thinking skills, quantitative reasoning and research experiences provide the groundwork for application to graduate school in the biological sciences and postgraduate professional and graduate schools.
This program sets students up to apply to graduate school in the biological sciences and schools of:
- Medicine
- Dentistry
- Veterinary medicine
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Optometry
- Pharmacy
- Physician assistant
Admission Requirements
- Official academic transcripts and/or Foreign Academic Credential Evaluation (FACE)* for all foreign transcripts. Evaluations of foreign transcripts are accepted from any NACES or AICE member such as WES, IFCS, Scholaro, or SpanTran.
- Mercy College takes a holistic approach in reviewing each student’s application. In the admission decision, we review a student’s transcript and academic record, including the courses taken and the grades attained. Other factors considered include the written essay, letters of recommendation, leadership potential, extracurricular and service-related activities.
- We do not require ACT or SAT for international undergraduate students
